Light Jacket Weather
When the Jacket is the Outfit.
Today’s post is so graciously brought to you by Zadig & Voltaire.

Light jacket weather is finally here for now (you never know in March on the East Coast), but I’m rejoicing while I can. I have an affinity for coats, and second to that, jackets, and I love when the temperature calls for them to be the outfit in of itself.

I was trying to pinpoint what makes a good jacket to me so I could tell you exactly what to look for. And while I racked my brain over which cut, color, material, or length defines the perfect one, spoiler alert, there’s a range of all of those in this post, it turns out there’s no single right answer. The right jacket, at least for me, is the one that is the outfit.
There are only a slim few months to make the most of this window: when it’s finally warm enough to pack away your coats, yet still cool enough to layer without melting, and, most importantly, to actually wear your jackets to their full potential.
So I rejoice in these fleeting weeks, and we’re finally entering them, so here’s some jacket inspo to marinate on. Clearly, we’ve got a trend happening: leather, brocade, and satin, all in semi-neutral color palettes.

So I implore everyone to break out their jackets and make them the outfit. Celebrate the mild temps and give these wardrobe workhorses their moment to shine, and please, show me yours; there’s nothing I love more than good jacket inspo.
